Your privacy matters
The Submissive Man is an independent author website offering free access to publications by Master BT.
We respect your privacy, particularly given the personal nature of the subjects explored in the book. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
Your reader account
We collect your email address to register your account, send secure sign-in links and provide access to your personal library.
We also retain essential account information, including your age declaration, publication access and download status. Basic technical information helps us keep the website secure.
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and recognise returning browsers. These do not track your reading progress.
Downloads and website activity
We collect basic website statistics, including traffic, completed ebook and audiobook download responses and reflection submission totals.
Some download information is associated with your reader account. Other statistics are anonymous or aggregated.
We use this information to understand how the website is being used and improve the reader experience. We do not track which pages of the book you read.
Landing referrals
We use a secure first-party cookie on thesubmissiveman.com, lasting up to 30 minutes, to recognise a referral from thesubman.com and its originating link. This helps us count referral visits without counting ordinary navigation repeatedly. It contains a random short-lived reference, link label and referral time, not your email address.
If you request a sign-in link during that period, referral details are temporarily associated with the existing email-verification record for up to 10 minutes so we can count a successful new verified registration, including when you open the email in another browser. Temporary records stop being used at expiry and are removed through existing hourly maintenance, normally within a further hour. Reports show aggregate totals, not reader identities. Aggregates are kept for up to 397 days. A source-free account marker prevents repeat registration counts and is removed with account deletion. We do not use this to track reading, build cross-site personal profiles, or share identities with advertisers. Missing attribution remains unknown.
Publication updates
You can choose to receive occasional emails about new publications, audiobook releases and author announcements.
This is entirely optional. You can change your preference or unsubscribe at any time.
Creating a reader account does not automatically subscribe you.
Private reflections
You can share a private reflection with Master BT.
Your reflection is delivered by email and is not published on the website. Providing an email address for a possible reply is optional, and a response is not guaranteed.
Your reader-account email is not automatically attached to your reflection. However, submitting without a reply address does not guarantee complete technical anonymity.
General themes may inspire future writing, but your words, identity or identifiable experiences will never be published without your separate, explicit permission.
Private reflections are kept for up to 24 months in Master BT's email account, unless a longer period is required by law. You can contact us to request earlier deletion.
Protecting your information
We use Cloudflare to operate and protect the website, Resend to deliver emails and Fastmail to receive correspondence. These providers may process information outside Australia.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and restrict access to it. We do not sell reader information or use advertising tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can manage promotional emails or delete your reader account through your library.
Account deletion removes your account and associated personal information from active website systems, although some information may remain temporarily in backups or security records. Reflections already delivered by email must be handled separately.
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing privacy@thesubmissiveman.com.
We may update this policy as the website develops. The current version will always be available here.
