About this website

The Submissive Man is an independently operated author website providing free access to publications by Master BT.

We respect your privacy, particularly given the personal nature of the subjects explored in the book.

Information we collect

When you register, we collect your email address to provide secure, passwordless access to your reader library.

We may record publication downloads to understand demand and manage access. We do not track your reading progress.

If you separately subscribe to publication updates, we record your preference and use your email address to send occasional news about publications, audiobook releases and author announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time without affecting your library access.

If you submit a private reflection, we collect the information you choose to share. You may optionally provide an email address if you would welcome a possible reply from Master BT. This address is not automatically taken from your reader account, and providing it does not subscribe you to promotional communications.

Private reflections

Reflections are shared privately with Master BT and are not published or displayed to other readers.

They may contain sensitive personal information. Please share only what you are comfortable providing.

General themes and insights may inform future editions of The Submissive Man or other publications by Master BT. Your words, identifiable experiences or identifying details will not be reproduced, attributed or publicly published without your separate, explicit permission.

Submitting without an email address does not guarantee anonymity. Technical information recorded by website infrastructure or service providers may make it possible to associate a submission with a person or account.

How information is handled

The website uses Cloudflare (Workers, D1 and R2) for infrastructure and storage, and Resend for email delivery.

These providers may process information outside Australia and maintain technical, operational or security records, including IP addresses and request information.

We restrict access to private information and use security measures appropriate to the service. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

For abuse prevention, short-lived pseudonymous request counters may be kept for up to 24 hours.

We do not sell reader information to advertisers.

Retention and deletion

When account deletion is enabled, a fresh email confirmation is required. Deletion removes the reader account, active sessions, access credentials and publication-update preference from active systems. Temporary confirmation records are kept for up to 24 hours. A restricted pseudonymous deletion record is kept for 30 days to prevent deleted accounts being restored from backups. Routine resolved deletion-request correspondence is removed from the active operational inbox within 30 days of resolution. Provider backups and security records may retain information longer. You may register again later; publication updates remain off unless you choose them.

Reader account information is retained while your account remains active, unless deletion is requested or continued retention is legally required.

Private reflections are retained in active storage for up to 24 months, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in provider backups, recovery systems or security records. Cloudflare D1 currently provides recovery windows of seven days on its Free plan and 30 days on its Paid plan. Other provider retention periods have not been fully verified.

Limited subscription records may be retained to honour unsubscribe requests.

Your choices

You can manage publication updates in your reader library or unsubscribe directly from a promotional email.

To request account deletion, access to information, correction of information or assistance with a privacy concern, contact:

Account-deletion requests must be verified before information is removed from active systems, subject to applicable legal and security obligations.

You may also request deletion of a reflection. Where a reflection was submitted without identifying information, we may be unable to reliably identify it as yours.

The privacy email address must be operational before the website launches.

Cookies and technical information

The website may use essential cookies or similar mechanisms for secure sessions and normal operation. Infrastructure providers may also process technical information for security and diagnostics.

We do not use these mechanisms to track reading progress.

Changes and enquiries

We may update this policy as the website develops. The current version and its revision date will be available here.
